ArcelorMittal to Restart Operations on Cleveland's West Side
ArcelorMittal Cleveland is preparing to restart its west side steelmaking operations in the early part of the second quarter. The restart is being made in response to customer demand and anticipated market conditions.

The decision has the potential to add 480,000 tons of annual steel capacity to the facility's output. ArcelorMittal will hire approximately 150 hourly and salaried employees in conjunction with the restart.

Officials say the decision demonstrates the company's ability to tailor production and adapt output to meet market conditions. Even with the restart, ArcelorMittal USA continues to operate below pre-crisis levels. The company maintains it has the ability to further increase production if demand warrants it.
