MSCI Names New Board of Directors

The Metals Service Center Institute, Rolling Meadows, Ill., named 12 business leaders to its board of directors, and appointed a new vice chairman, during its 2011 annual meeting last month in Colorado. Named a vice chairman of the institute was Richard Robinson, president of Norfolk Iron and Metal Co., Norfolk, Neb. He replaces Michael H. Hoffman, president and CEO of Macsteel Service Centers USA, who was elected chairman of the trade association.

New directors of the institute include:

Ulrich Albrecht-Frueh, president and CEO, ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA LLC, Calvert, Ala.; Michael C. Arnold, president and CEO, Ryerson Inc., Chicago; Gary L. Crouch, sales manager, Nucor-Yamato Steel Co., Blytheville, Ark.; Steven J. Demetriou, chairman and CEO, Aleris International Inc., Beachwood, Ohio; Maureen Kelly, vice president, information systems, Russel Metals Inc., Mississauga, Ont.; Frank G. Kevane, president and CEO, ThyssenKrupp Materials NA, Inc., Copper and Brass Sales Division, Southfield, Mich.; Carl Parker, senior vice president, corporate purchasing, Samuel, Son & Co., Ltd., Hamilton, Ont.; William K. Sales, Jr., senior vice president, nonferrous operations, Reliance Steel and Aluminum Co., Los Angeles; James F. Sarwark, executive vice president, Nelsen Steel Co., Franklin Park, Ill.; Tim Spatafore, executive vice president, branch operations, and Alan L. Wilkinson, regional vice president, Marmon/Keystone Corp., Butler, Pa.; Peter Whiting, chairman, president and CEO, PTC Alliance Holdings Corp., Wexford, Pa.; and John A. Zemon, vice president, stainless marketing, Atlas Steel Products Co., Twinsburg, Ohio.

Five members were newly named to MSCI's Executive Committee: John Batiste, president, Klein Steel Service Inc., Rochester, N.Y.; Brian R. Hedges, president and CEO, Russel Metals Inc., Mississauga, Ont.; John Palesny, vice president, Petersen Aluminum Corp., Elk Grove Village, Ill.; Terence R.
