Reliance Acquires Haskins Steel

North America's largest service center company continues to grow. Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co., through its wholly owned subsidiary American Metals Corp., has completed the acquisition of Spokane, Wash.-based Haskins Steel Co.

Founded in 1955, Haskins processes and distributes various carbon and aluminum products for customers in the Pacific Northwest. The company’s in-house processing capabilities include shearing, sawing, burning and forming. Haskins reported net sales of approximately $31.5 million in 2012.

"Haskins will enhance American Metals' penetration into this geographic area where it did not previously have a physical presence," said David H. Hannah, Reliance chairman and CEO.

Haskins will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of AMC. The company's current management will remain in place.
