Leeco to Open Houston Distribution Center

Leeco Steel, a supplier of carbon, HSLA, heat-treated and alloy plate steel, has purchased a facility in Houston. The new facility is Leeco’s second location in Texas and will be home to a sales and distribution center.

The 67,000-square-foot facility is located in northwest Houston on property with space for future expansion. The building is equipped for efficient distribution with drive-through bays and rail service. The distribution center will be fully operational in February.

"We are making a substantial investment in Texas in an effort to better serve our customers and to take advantage of the potential business we've targeted while operating our Fort Worth facility the past six years," says Denton Nordhues, president and CEO of Leeco Steel. "We are expanding our reach in a market we currently serve. The Houston facility will allow us to provide enhanced service, increased commercial coverage and further penetration into the region."

Leeco Steel has named CJ Tylka the Houston sales manager. He has been with Leeco since 2007 and is currently national account manager at the corporate headquarters in Lisle, Ill.
