U.S. Steel Mill Shipments Up in January
 
U.S. mills shipped 7.9 million tons of steel in January, a 3.4 increase from the previous month but down 3.4 percent compared to the same month in 2013, reports the American Iron and Steel Institute in Washington.

A comparison of January shipments to the previous month shows the following changes: hot-dipped galvanized sheets and strip, up 6.0 percent; cold-rolled sheet, up 2.0 percent; and hot-rolled sheet, down 3.0 percent.
