Samuel Opens China Aerospace Facility

The aerospace metals division of Samuel, Son & Co., Ltd., has opened a new facility in Chengdu, China. The 22,000-square-foot facility is located 1,120 miles west of Beijing.

With the new Chengdu location, Samuel becomes the local leading "western world" metal service center to supply to domestic commercial aircraft programs in China, such as the prominent C919, ARJ and TA600 programs. Equipped with the latest 10-inch Schelling saw, this facility functions as an important service provider to the supply chain of the Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corp. and the Aviation Industries Corp. of China, Samuel claims.

The CAC and AVIC programs supply parts to some of the world's largest aircraft manufacturing programs, including Chengdu Aircraft, Boeing and Airbus.

"This is an important step in the development of Samuel's global aerospace footprint," states Judy Wong, president, Samuel & Fils & Cie Ltée. "Samuel has the history, the network and the resources that are needed to thrive in this highly competitive market."
