SMS Acquires Indiana Shredding Operation
 
Scrap Metal Services, LLC, Chicago, has acquired the auto shredding operation of 360 Degree Metal Recycling, Inc., a full-service scrap yard in New Carlisle, Ind. The facility is strategically located to enable SMS to cost-effectively transport shredder feedstock scrap including vehicles and obsolete scrap from its nine Northwest Indiana and Chicago retail facilities and auto parts operations.

SMS operates over 20 facilities in the U.S and Mexico that offer scrap processing, steel mill support services, ship breaking, oil rig/truck/railcar dismantlement, and auto salvage and parts sales. SMS provides full-service scrap management, consulting and purchasing services and is a supplier of ferrous and nonferrous scrap commodities to both domestic and international consumers.
