Steel Mill Shipments Decline in January
U.S. steel mills shipped 7.8 million tons of steel in January, a 2.7 percent decline from the previous month and 1.7 percent below the same month in 2014, reports the American Iron and Steel Institute in Washington. AISI is the trade group representing domestic steelmakers.

A comparison of January shipments to the previous month shows cold-rolled sheets up 2.0 percent, hot-dipped galvanized sheets down 6.0 percent, and hot-rolled sheets down 10 percent.
