ASD Honors Goldenberg

Delaware Steel President Lisa Goldenberg has been selected to receive the 2015 Steel Man of the Year Award from the Association of Steel Distributors, and is the first woman to receive ASD’s top honor. Given annually since 1956, the award recognizes individuals who have made lasting contributions to the steel distribution industry.

“Lisa embodies the full essence of a Steel Man of the Year Award winner. She is a trailblazer, serving as the first female president of ASD from 2012-2014, and now is the first female Steel Man Award recipient. These accomplishments perfectly encompass her tenacity and success in an industry that was once dominated by men. Her love, passion and commitment to the steel community are boundless,” says Brian Robbins, ASD president and CEO of MidWest Materials.

Delaware Steel Company of Pennsylvania, Fort Washington, Pa., is a national wholesale distributor with sales throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada. Goldenberg becomes the third member of her family to be recognized by ASD, following grandfather Bernard Brownstein and father Jerald Brownstein. “I grew up understanding the importance of this award and was raised with the core belief that networking with peers is a recipe for success,” she says.
