People on the Move

Friedman Industries, Inc., Humble, Texas, has promoted Robert Sparkman to president and chief operating officer. William E. Crow has been serving as president and CEO, and will retain his duties as CEO. Sparkman, an employee of Friedman since 1979, most recently served as senior vice president of operations for the company.

Robert Micchelli will step down from his role as chief financial officer at Global Brass and Copper Holdings, Schaumburg, Ill., on July 1. Vice President of Finance Christopher Kodosky will be promoted to replace him. Micchelli will continue to serve in an advisory capacity until his retirement in early 2017.

Vice President of Manufacturing Kurt Russell has been promoted to president of Precoat Metals, St. Louis. Gerald Dombek, who had been president and chief executive officer, will continue in his role as CEO. Additionally, Jason Crawford has been promoted to senior vice president of finance and administration.

Koike Aronson, a manufacturer of metal cutting and positioning equipment, has appointed James McAuliffe, Jr., as president and CEO of the Arcade, N.Y., company. He had been CFO at Rigidized Metals Corp. Former President and Chief Executive Officer Jerry Leary will remain CEO through March 2017, at which time he will retire from the company and McAuliffe will assume the role.

Roger Lindsay is retiring as Chicago-based Ryerson’s chief human resources officer, a position he has held since 2011. His duties will be filled by Mark Silver, Ryerson’s executive vice president, general counsel and secretary.

Matt Danis has been appointed president of American Piping Products, St. Louis. Danis had been serving as managing director and chief financial officer since May 2014. Al Rheinnecker will retain his role as CEO for the company.

Thomas Ehlers has been named general manager of Olympic Steel’s Minnesota Plate Division. The company also appointed Thomas Sacco general manager of the company’s Minnesota Coil Division.
