ANCO Opens Indiana Warehouse

ANCO Steel Co. has opened a 64,000-square-foot warehouse in the Hammond Enterprise Center in Indiana. The facility marks the fourth location for Naperville, Ill.-based ANCO.

The facility, which had been a Stainrail building, required significant upgrades to make it workable for service center operations, including new overhead cranes and a new railroad siding to connect with CSX. The company has installed one band saw, with another on order.

The Hammond location will serve as a hub for ANCO’s other full-line service center locations in Aurora and Louisville, Ill., and Elkhart, Ind., says General Manager Jim Morton. It will carry predominantly long carbon products, including tubing, pipe and channels, supplying the other branches, as well as some external customers.

ANCO Steel offers rebar, sheet, plate, tubing, bars, angle iron, channel, and value-added processing for customers in manufacturing, construction, agriculture, welding/fabrication and metals distribution.
