NorthStar BlueScope Names New President

North Star BlueScope Steel, Delta, Ohio, has appointed Robin Davies as president. He had been based in New Zealand, where he served as vice president of rolling and finishing operations at the company’s Glenbrook site. He also worked as general manager of the company’s recently acquired Pacific Steel in Otahuhu.

He previously worked for 12 years for a number of rolling mill and operational downstream P&L roles in the UK with Tata Steel Europe. Davies replaces Miguel Alvarez, who had served as president of the steel producer since 2010.

North Star BlueScope, owned by Australia’s BlueScope, provides hot-rolled bands to coil processors, cold-rolled strip producers, pipe and tubers, original equipment manufacturers and service centers.
