Samuel Integrates Pickling Operations

Samuel, Son & Co., Mississauga, Ontario, has integrated Samuel Steel Pickling in Ohio and Nelson Steel in Ontario into a single unit. The integration will allow for improved communications and greater ease in testing new pickling technologies, according to the company.

Rick Snyder has been named president of the combined operations, which will be known as Samuel Steel Pickling Group. His responsibilities include the U.S. and Canadian steel pickling operations as well as oversight of the Nelson Steel Technology Group, which designs and supplies new pickling lines and retrofits existing processing sections to deliver more efficient pickling lines for customers around the world.

“Nelson Steel, which was previously part of Samuel’s service center operations, is a natural fit with Samuel’s steel pickling operations,” says Rod Crawford, president of Samuel’s manufacturing businesses. This new structure will help leverage our investments in research and development which is going to mean faster turnaround for customers.”

Along with this move, Mike Andrzejewski has been named general manager at Samuel Steel Pickling Company, with responsibility for the Cleveland and Twinsburg, Ohio, operations.
