Mathiason Becomes Jemison President

Jemison Metals, Birmingham, Ala., has promoted Craig Mathiason to president and chief operating officer. Mathiason joined the company in 1998, and has served as manager, vice president and executive vice president, most recently as executive vice president of Jemison’s commercial division.

“I’ve long been proud to work alongside this team of innovators,” says Mathiason. “and I welcome the opportunity to lead that team. The common thread in us all is the drive to create efficiencies before our clients even realize the need for them. What we do isn’t just about selling metals—it’s about boosting our customers’ businesses.”

Pete Heinke, Jemison Metals’ CEO, will remain involved in business operations while tackling a key strategic initiative for the company. His focused efforts are on the development of industry technologies designed to extend a strategic advantage to Jemison clients.

Jemison Metals is a provider of carbon flat-rolled products, five facilities in four states including Alabama, Virginia, Ohio, and South Carolina. The company ranked 43rd on Metal Center News’ Top 50 largest service center companies in North America this year.
