ALCOS Vacuum Stacker Lifts All Shapes

ALCOS Machinery, Inc., Newmarket, Ontario, offers a Dual Station Vacuum Stacker, which can handle all shapes of aluminum, steel or austenitic stainless steel blanks up to 156 inches long and 76 inches wide. The vacuum system is powerful enough to stack steel blanks without the assistance of electromagnets. The Vacuum Stacker operates continuously. While one station is collecting, stacking, tamping and counting blanks, the other station is on standby, ready to seamlessly receive blanks from the vacuum conveyor as soon as the blank count is complete on the first station. The changeover is fully automatic.

If paired blanks, such as trapezoid or left- and right-handed blanks, require separate stacks, both Vacuum Stacker stations are used simultaneously. The vacuum conveyor drops blanks alternately to the first and second station. When the desired blank count is achieved, the stacker will signal the press to stop for removal of both stacks. Completed stacks can be discharged to the front or the rear of the stacker using shuttle cars for continuous operation and are integrated with a scale to obtain accurate stack weights. Blank rejects can be conveyed to the end of the stacker and deposited into a reject bin.
