Circular Saws Cut Faster than Ever

Circular carbide sawing and band saws have been trying to outpace each other since the 1970s. While band saw technology continues to develop today at a much lower cost than circular saws, the latter has proven to be the top competitor. Now that production planners at metal service centers must deliver smaller batch sizes with shorter lead times, the most productive metal sawing method continues to be with circular carbide saws, Advanced Machine & Engineering claims.

The thin body circular blades cut through material faster than ever before and with minimal waste, further allowing planners to react to JIT manufacturing requirements. A range of standard circular saws can cut solid material, tubing, or special profiles in sizes from 25 to 760 millimeters and can combine with semiautomatic loading and unloading systems.
