KASTO AC 5.6 Cuts Sawing Times in Half

The KASTOwin pro AC 5.6 band saw was designed to reduce cutting time for operators. Depending on the type of blade, cutting times can be cut by 50 percent or more, the Export, Pa.-based company claims.

The fully automatic machine has a rigid welded construction to minimize vibration and is optimized for bimetallic and carbide blades. It comes with a feed system controlled by two ball screw spindles, each with a servo drive for precise, variable control. A retraction unit on each side lifts the band from the surface when the saw head moves back, which provides for efficient, exact sawing with minimal tool wear.
