Klein Expands Retail Business

Klein Steel Service Inc, a full-line steel service center with a network of warehouses in New York, will transition its Syracuse facility to a retail store.  Further retail plans include upgrading the Buffalo retail store to fit with the Klein Steel retail brand, adding a facility to augment the Albany sales office, and future expansions into Ohio, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

“We are focused on growth and continuous improvement,” says John Batiste, president of Klein Steel Service Inc. “This change allows us to do both.  By transitioning our current Syracuse facility to a retail store, we’re offering our local homeowners and small business owners a great shopping experience at a customer-friendly metal retail store. We also are continuing our premium service to our Syracuse customers who require rapid delivery of prime and processed metals to their locations, while adhering to the highest quality standards.”

Last month Klein Steel announced the completion of upgrades to the company’s retail store, Rochester Steel and Surplus. Batiste says the company is planning similar improvements at Buffalo Steel & Surplus.

In the months ahead, Klein will open a depot in the Albany area, says Batiste, noting that the company already has a sales office there.
