Pennex Acquires General Extrusions’ Ohio Plant
Pennex Aluminum Co, Wellsville, Pa., has agreed to acquire the Leetonia, Ohio, extrusion facility from General Extrusions Inc.
"The Leetonia facility is a great strategic fit for Pennex,” says Rick Merluzzi, president and CEO of Pennex. “The 3,600-ton press not only adds capacity for future growth, but also expands our product range. The plant is well positioned from an operating standpoint, and the location is ideal for serving our regional customers.”
Pennex Aluminum Co. is owned by Metal Exchange Corp., a metals trading, manufacturing and processing company. It supplies custom aluminum extrusions, fabrication services and aluminum billet.
“All operations at our General Extrusions facility in Youngstown will continue as before. This sale will benefit our ongoing customer base through our development of a close working relationship with both Pennex and Metal Exchange Corp.," says Herbert F.
