Aluminum Shipments Spike in October

U.S. aluminum shipments increased sharply in October, the Metals Service Center Institute reported in its latest Metals Activity Report. Service center shipments of all other products did not follow suit.
In the U.S., service center shipments of aluminum increased 12.6 percent compared with October 2023. Steel shipments were down 0.8 percent compared with the same month last year.
In Canada, steel shipments decreased 9.2 percent in October compared with 2023. Aluminum shipments declined 13.4 percent from the same month in the prior year.
