Behr Appointed President of AIST

Al C. Behr, executive vice president, Nucor Corp., Charlotte, N.C., has been appointed president of the Association for Iron & Steel Technology for 2025–2026. Behr succeeds Thomas C. Toner, senior advisor and vice president, operations, SSAB Americas, Mobile, Ala.

AIST announced its 2025 to 2026 executive committee and board of directors during AISTech 2025, the organization’s annual conference and exposition, which was held May 5 to 8 in Nashville.

Also appointed as members of the executive committee were:

· First Vice President: Traci L. Forrester, executive vice president, environmental and sustainability, Cleveland-Cliffs Inc., Cleveland.

· Second Vice President: John G. Speer, American Bureau of Shipping chaired professor, Colorado School of Mines, Golden, Colo.

· Past President: Thomas C. Toner, senior advisor and vice president operations, SSAB Americas, Mobile, Ala.

· First Officer-at-Large: Greg J. Brandon, vice president Southeast Division, CMC, Cayce, S.C.

· Second Officer-at-Large: Dirk Francis, COO, primary, Cluster Dunkerque, ArcelorMittal France.

· Third Officer-at-Large: Jeff Joldrichsen, vice president, operations, BlueScope Coated Products Middletown, Delta, Ohio.

· Fourth Officer-at-Large: Daniel R. Brown, COO and senior vice president of advanced technology steelmaking, U.S. Steel Corporation/Big River Steel, Osceola, Ark.

· Treasurer: Mark L. Fedor, president and CEO, Morgan Engineering, Alliance, Ohio.

· Secretary: Ronald E. Ashburn, executive director, Association for Iron & Steel Technology, Warrendale, Pa.
