By on
JSW Steel USA has rejoined the Steel Manufacturers Association. Additionally, JSW Steel USA CEO Rob Simon has rejoined the group's board of directors. He previously served as chairman of SMA while serving as an executive with EVRAZ North America.

“We share SMA’s commitment to high-tech, low-emissions steelmaking that builds strong communities and makes life better for American families,” Simon said. “We put a high value on SMA’s pursuit of policies that ensure the fair trade of steel and raw materials while recognizing and rewarding our efforts to decarbonize the supply chain.”

JSW USA operates an electric arc furnace steel mill in Mingo Junction, Ohio, and a plate and pipe mill in Baytown, Texas. The company makes custom carbon steel plates, DSAW pipe and hot rolled coil products.

“We are pleased to welcome JSW Steel USA and Rob Simon back to SMA. They make high-quality steel products using modern, low-emissions processes, and they are investing in increased capacity to produce steel that is melted and manufactured in America," said SMA President Philip K. Bell.
