
Red Metal Shipments Climb 10% in May

Service center shipments of red metal products increased 10 percent in May compared with the same month in 2017, reports the Copper and Brass Servicenter Association.
Total copper shipments in May were up 14.4 percent to 12.2 million pounds, while alloy shipments jumped 5.5 percent to 11.3 million pounds.
Shipments of copper and alloy products through the first five months of 2018 increased 8.8 percent to 100 million pounds.
Copper shipments were up 9.6 percent through five months to 51 million pounds, while alloy shipments were up 8 percent to 48.9 million pounds.
