Red Metal Shipments Up in April

Service center shipments of red metal products increased 6.9 percent in April, compared with the same month in 2017, reports the Copper and Brass Servicenter Association.

Total copper shipments in April were up 4.9 percent to 11.7 million pounds, while alloy shipments jumped 9 percent to 11.5 million pounds.

Shipments of copper and alloy products through the first four months of 2018 increased 8.5 percent to 76.4 million pounds. 

Copper shipments were up 8.2 percent through four months to 38.8 million pounds, while alloy shipments were up 8.8 percent to 37.6 million pounds.
