Red Metal Shipments Up in March

Service center shipments of red metal products fell 3.7 percent in March, compared with the same month in 2017, reports the Copper and Brass Servicenter Association.

Total copper shipments in March were down 4.8 percent to 7.9 million pounds, while alloy shipments declined 2.6 percent to 8.1 million pounds.

Shipments of copper and alloy products through the first three months of 2018 increased 65.5 percent to 53.3 million pounds. Copper shipments were up 65.1 percent through three months to 27.1 million pounds, while alloy shipments were up 66 percent to 26.1 million pounds.
