Red Metal Shipments Up in March

Jun 10, 2019 Shipments of copper products increased slightly in April compared with the previous month, reports the Copper and Brass Servicenter Association, Overland Park, Kan.
Total warehouse shipments increased 0.4 percent in April to 21 million pounds. Finished goods shipments were worth $2.2 million, an increase of 8.4 percent in value from March.
Among copper strip and sheet products, C200/300/400 shipments decreased 7.8 percent to 3.6 million pounds, while C500/600/700 shipments increased 34 percent to 739,000 pounds.
In copper plate, C200/300/400 shipments fell 7.3 percent to 89,000 pounds, and C500/600/700 shipments of 70,000 pounds increased 22.3 percent from March.
Among copper rod/bar/profile/hollow shipments, C200/300/400 shipments decreased 4 percent, C500/600/700 shipments decreased 19.6 percent and C800/900 shipments rose 2.5 percent.
Among pipe and tube products, C200/300/400 increased 38.9 percent and C500/600/700 shipments climbed 209 percent in March.
