Steel Shipments Down YoY in January

The U.S. shipped 7.1 million net tons of steel in January, a 3.6 percent increase from December but a decline of 7.9 percent from the 7.8 million tons shipped in the same month of 2022.
Hot-rolled sheet shipments were down 22 percent in January compared with January 2022. Cold-rolled sheet was down 10 percent and corrosion-resistant sheet and strip shipments were down 7 percent.
