Steel Shipments Rise in October

Steel shipments were up sharply in both the United States and Canada in October, the Metals Service Center Institute reported in its latest Metals Activity Report. Aluminum shipments were down in the U.S. and increased in Canada compared to year-ago levels.
U.S. service center steel shipments in October increased 5.9 percent from the same month last year. Aluminum shipments were down 6.6 percent compared with October 2022.
Canadian service center steel shipments in October increased 8.6 percent from the prior year. Aluminum shipments were up 7.1 percent from the same month in 2022.
