Steel Shipments Still Climbing

Steel shipments from U.S. service centers continued to climb in February, the Metals Service Center Institute reported in its latest Metals Activity Report. Aluminum shipments, however, were down from U.S. distributors.
U.S. service center steel shipments in February increased 1.4 percent from February 2023. Shipments of aluminum products decreased 1.2 percent from the same month in 2023.
Canadian service center steel shipments in February jumped 7.7 percent from the same month in 2023. Shipments of aluminum products increased 2 percent from the prior-year February.
