World Steel Production Up in November

World crude steel production for the 71 countries reporting to worldsteel totaled 146.8 million metric tons in November, a 0.8 percent increase compared with November 2023. For the year to date, production of 1.69 billion tons was down 1.4 percent.
The U.S. produced 6.4 million tons in November, down 2.4 percent from the same month in 2023. Year-to-date production in the U.S. totaled 72.9 million tons, down 2.2 percent.
Overall production of 8.5 million tons in North America was down 5.2 percent and the 11-month output of 97.1 million tons was off 4.1 percent.
China produced 78.4 million tons in November, up 2.5 percent compared with November 2023. Indian production was up 4.5 percent to 12.4 million tons.
