Nov 25, 2015 Nov. 25, 2015 Lapham-Hickey Acquires Cragin Metals Lapham-Hickey Steel has acquired the assets of Cragin Metals LLC, Elk Grove Village, Ill. Cragin is a supplier of steel strips, sheets and blanks in the Chicago area. The family-owned business has been in operation for more than 60 years. “The acquisition of Cragin Metals reinforces our position as one of the leading full-line service centers in the Chicagoland and Midwest region. It expands the products and services that we offer to our existing customer bases as well as the marketplace. Our goal is to make this transition seamless to all customers,” says Bill Hickey, president of Lapham-Hickey Steel, the 33rd-largest service center company in North America. Over the next three months, the day-to-day operations of Cragin Metals will be integrated into the Lapham-Hickey headquarters and production facility in Bedford Park, Ill.
