Oct. 28, 2015 MCN Names Don Simon Exec of the Year There aren’t many people who can say they’ve been in the steel business for over 60 years. There aren’t many who can say they started a steel business from scratch. There aren’t many who’ve grown their company to rank among the Top 40 in the industry. There aren’t many who at age 85 are still the first to arrive and the last to leave the office most days. In short, there aren’t many people like Don Simon. Metal Center News is proud to honor Donald R. Simon, founder and president of Contractors Steel Co. in Detroit, as its 2015 Service Center Executive of the Year. Simon and his company will be the subject of the cover story in the December print edition of MCN. Simon will be the 19th recipient of the award, which is designed to recognize an industry leader whose career and business strategies can serve as a model—and an inspiration—for others.
