May 14, 2014 May 14, 2014 People on the Move American Piping Products, St. Louis, Mo., has promoted three key executives. Kevin Koehler, who has served as executive vice president since August 2012, will move into the role of managing director. Matt Danis, who joined American Piping Products in September 2009, will shift from his role as chief operating officer into a position as managing director, and will remain chief financial officer. Shep Hickey, who joined the operations team in 2011, has been promoted to COO. Collectively, the three bring more than 40 years of management and piping experience to the APP executive team. Norwin Lilly has been promoted to branch manager at TW Metals' Charleston, S.C., and Cincinnati locations. Additionally, Rosemary Smith has been promoted to commodity manager for the Exton, Pa.-based company. R. Paul Sandmeyer III has joined Sandmeyer Steel Co. as materials procurement manager. Paul Sandmeyer, the fourth generation of the family to work for the Philadelphia-based service center, will replace Gerald J. Geiger Sr., who plans to retire mid-year after 41 years of service to the company. Olympic Steel Inc., Cleveland, has promoted Stephen Reyes to vice president of sales and marketing for the company's flat-rolled division. Additionally, Thomas Ehlers has been promoted to general manager of Olympic's Minneapolis operation, which includes oversight of the Moses Lake, Wash., satellite operation. Worthington Industries Inc., Columbus, Ohio, has named Joe Hayek the vice president of mergers and acquisitions and corporate development. The newly created position will be focused on identifying and acquiring new businesses.
