Texas OCTG distribution and services companies Premier Pipe LLC and Pyramid Tubular LLC will merge into a single company. Both companies are existing subsidiaries of Sumitomo Corporation of Americas.
Randall Edwards, who had been serving as president and CEO of Premier Pipe, will be the president and CEO of the merged company. “In recognition of the unprecedented pressures in the current oil and gas markets, we feel that now is the opportune time to combine the talented and experienced teams of Premier and Pyramid to best meet the operational and service challenges of our customers,” he said.
“Our customers are facing a supply and demand equation that requires collaborative partnership and new solutions. Our longstanding relationships with mills and end users, combined with an expanding suite of services, allows us to be that creative partner,” said Chief Commerical Officer Brent Mendenhall.
The new company will focus on service and technology offerings that improve efficiency, performance outcomes and even environmental footprints for customers, the company claims.
Premier Pipe, based in Houston, specializes in OCTG products and threads. Fellow Houston company Pyramid offers OCTG resources that include casing, tubing and repair services.
Upon consolidation, each company will continue to operate under their existing names in the short term, with a new name for the consolidated company planned for the coming months.
