Varsteel Ltd., a steel service center in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, has installed a Red Bud Industries Heavy Gauge Cut-to-Length Line with Stretcher Leveler. With a 1-inch by 96-inch capacity, the new line is one of the largest cut-to-length lines in North America, according to Red Bud.
Coils can be pre-prepped before being automatically loaded onto the uncoiler, and a Pop Top 1200 HP Flattener was provided.

The unit also includes Red Bud’s Quick Draw technology that produces the fastest cycle times in the industry, the company claims. The line also boasts SUREGRIP metallic grippers to prevent slippage when running high-strength and/or oily material..
The new line also includes a coil stage and load system with automatic coil loading, dual cone uncoiler, heavy gauge peeler breaker, crop shear, pop top precision straightener, rotating brush dust collector system, thread system, servo roll feed, a 300-ton variable rake shear with quick-change blades, as well as a heavy gauge drop stacker with end discharge rollouts.
