KASTO and SEW-EURODRIVE have implemented a groundbreaking automated system combining advanced sawing and storage technology. At SEW’s new 4,000-square-meter facility, the UNICOMPACT honeycomb storage system with 5,140 spaces integrates seamlessly with the KASTOcenter sawing center. Materials, such as steel bars and tubes, are transported, demagnetized and cut to size automatically, minimizing manual intervention.

The system features eight KASTOvariospeed circular saws and a KASTOtec SC 4 bandsaw for precision cutting of a range of materials, including challenging ones such as titanium and Inconel. 

Centralized by the KASTOlogic Warehouse Management System, operations achieve full automation, optimizing workflows and reducing labor needs. With only three to four operators required, SEW benefits from reduced personnel demands while ensuring high efficiency and precision for batch sizes from 1 to 10,000.
