Allied Tube Orders Braner Slitting Line

Allied Tube & Conduit, Chicago, has ordered a Hi-Performance Turret Head Slitting Line from Braner/Loopco. The line will be installed at the company’s Harvey, Ill., welded tube production facility.
The new slitter will be capable of processing hot-rolled and cold-rolled high-strength coil to 30-tons in gauges from .025 inches through ¼ inches. Two constant line-speed modes of 500 fpm and 1,500 fpm are provided for processing heavy high-strength and thin-gauge coil.
The slitting line will be equipped with productivity and safety enhancing features, including a quick-change Triple Turret Head Slitter with a quick-change threadless tooling lock-up for short-production efficiency; non-marking loop control tensioning with automatic set-up, automatic tension and automatic traction control; and power elevating looping pit floor, among others.
