Aviva President Greathead Retiring at Year's End

Aviva Metals President Michael Greathead will retire after 33 years with the Houston-based company. His retirement takes effect on Dec. 31.
Tom Bobish has been promoted to assume the role of president. He has been serving as vice president of operations for the past three years, having spent the previous 10 years as senior vice president of sales for PMX Industries. He has more than two decades of experience in the metals industry.
“I feel that the time is now right to move on to the next phase of my life. I will however remain on the board of directors and will continue to assist Aviva Metals as and when needed,” Greathead said.
Since joining the company, Aviva Metals has grown from a 10-man operation, to an international company employing more than 180 staff members in the U.S., Mexico and France. Starting as a small local distributor, Aviva Metals now has evolved into manufacturing and machining at their state-of-the-art facility in Lorain, Ohio, together with strategic distribution operations in Houston; Lorain, Ohio; Monterrey, Mexico and Toulon, France. Aviva Metals can ship to customers all around the world.
“I am truly proud of our growth and the jobs we have been able to create. The support of my colleagues and shareholders has played a massive role in this growth but ultimately it is our customers who have made it all possible,” Greathead said. “In addition the wonderful relationships that we have with our vendors has similarly strengthened our position in the market.”
