B+S to Supply Slitter to Carpenter

Burghardt & Schmidt has been commissioned by Carpenter Technology Corporation to build a high-precision slitter. The system will be installed at the company's Reading, Pa., facility.
The line will incorporate the latest technology available to process a wide range of specialty alloys produced by Carpenter Technology. The proposed system will not only include a Level 3 platform for seamless integration with Carpenter’s production system but also provide real-time online feedback to the production department about line status and daily production runs.
The integration and feedback mechanism will ensure efficient and effective production operations. The line will integrate the latest measurement systems, cameras, and data logging.
