Jim Miller has returned to Chicago Extruded Metals as the new director of marketing. Tramec acquired CXM in November from Berkshire Investments.
Miller's appointment marks a significant step forward in CXM’s ongoing transformation, as his return brings a wealth of industry experience and a renewed commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence, the company claimed. His return is an exciting development, particularly as it signals a shift back to the glory years of CXM – a period marked by superior customer service and high-quality products. His previous experience with the company was pivotal in building CXM’s reputation and his return signifies a fresh start focused on restoring that legacy.
“It’s great to have Jim back with CXM. His experience with the company and deep understanding of the industry make him an invaluable asset as we move forward under Tramec’s ownership,” said Mark Holm, CCO of Tramec, LLC. “Jim’s leadership will be crucial in revitalizing CXM’s operations and reinforcing the commitment to customer service at CXM.”
Miller began with CXM 1989 when he joined the company’s extrusion department straight out of high school. Over the years, he grew his expertise in manufacturing, working in areas such as hot-forming, cold-drawing and managing key production departments. His consultative approach and technical expertise have made him a trusted resource in industries like potable water and machining.
As director of sales and marketing, he will focus on driving CXM’s growth by leveraging his industry knowledge and strong relationships. His leadership will be key in reinforcing CXM’s commitment to high-quality alloys, custom extrusions and excellent customer service.
Since its acquisition by Tramec in November 2024, CXM has been undergoing strategic improvements aimed at enhancing its manufacturing capabilities. Founded in 1923, CXM has a long history of leadership in the recycling of brass materials and a reputation for delivering reliable products to industries such as automotive, aerospace and electronics.
