Dimeco's LINACUT Offers Laser Cutting of Coils

LINACUT from Dimeco has been designed to cut sheet metal up to 4 millimeters thick. LINACUT uses a coil handling line, a continuous laser cutting module and a fully automated part-downloading system.
By working from a coil, the system is like processing a blank with infinite length. It opens the nesting algorithms to far more options than traditional lasers, the company claims. The system means the scrap reduction rate can be cut by as much as 10 percent, there is no limit in part-length that can be produced and buying coil instead of blanks saves on material costs. Coils up to 25 tons can be used, at 60 inches wide.
Dimeco Coil Technologies is a French company which recently opened an American affiliate in Chicago.
