Nucor Breaks Ground in North Carolina

By on

Nucor has broken ground on a new rebar micro mill in Lexington, N.C. The new facility is expected to produce 430,000 tons of rebar annually.

The $350 million investment will mark Nucor’s third micro mill, following facilities in Missouri and Florida. Production is expected to begin by the end of 2024.

The facility will produce rebar for the region between Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, one of the faster growing areas of the country, Nucor President and CEO Leon Topalian said when the investment was announced.
