Pennsylvania Steel Acquires Besco Steel Supply

Pennsylvania Steel Company Inc., Bensalem, Pa., has acquired  Besco Steel Supply, a Birmingham, Ala.-based service center. Besco has operations in Birmingham and Winder, Ga.

This acquisition marks a significant milestone in Pennsylvania Steel’s growth strategy, further solidifying its position as a leader in the steel service center industry and expanding its reach in the Southeastern United States.

The integration of Besco Steel’s operations with Pennsylvania Steel will enhance its ability to meet the needs of customers with a broader range of products and services, while maintaining the high standards of quality and service that both companies are known for, a release from the company announced.

Hale Nelson will lead the operation in Alabama for Pennsylvania Steel. He started in the metal industry in 2006 and worked successfully in inside sales, outside sales, and both operations and sales management, and was an award-winning district general manager of three locations in the Southeast. Prior to joining Pennsylvania Steel, Hale was a regional director of operations in the construction supply industry.

Pennsylvania Steel is a 50-year-old company supplying steel, aluminum and other metal products throughout the East Coast.
