By on
John Petreanu has been named president and CEO of Plymouth Tube, Warrenville, Ill., effective Sept. 3. He has more than 30 years of proven leadership experience in medical devices, aerospace and specialty materials.

He has held diverse leadership roles including president at life science advisory firm Paltin Partners LLC, president of Scapa Healthcare and leading Viant Medical’s advanced surgical and specialties division. Earlier leadership roles with GE Specialty Materials, GE Plastics and Owens Corning focused on the commercial aerospace and specialty materials industries.

“I look forward to connecting with the excellent employees, customers, suppliers and stakeholders who have played such a significant role in delivering product and service excellence,” said Petreanu. “The Plymouth Advantage is built on superior service and value with the industry’s highest quality tubing and extruded metal products. I am excited to work with the Plymouth team to build on a strong foundation of product leadership to increase value for all our partners."

Petreanu succeeds Pete Murray, who served as interim president and CEO since 2023 and remains on Plymouth’s board of directors. “It is exciting to welcome John Petreanu to Plymouth. His demonstrated leadership driving profitable growth in technically demanding markets is perfectly suited to increasing value for customers and opportunities for employees,” said Murray.

Plymouth Tube Company is a privately-held, family-owned, precision metals manufacturer. Products include tubing, extruded shapes and cold drawn shapes spanning specialty carbon, alloy, stainless steel, nickel alloy and titanium.
