GEORG, Roanoke, Va., has developed a high-precision sheet leveling machine for wide aluminum sheets. The line handles material from 1,000 to 3,200 millimeters wide, with a thickness range from 1.5 to 10.5 millimeters.
The challenge of the line was finding the right setup for the change-leveling cassettes to cover the complete thickness range. The leveling cassettes can be changed in less than 15 minutes with an automatic change car.

The line also features a laser measurement system to detect flatness, indicating to the operator whether a second leveling attempt is necessary or if tolerances are reached during the first attempt. Second attempts can be made by operating the machine in reverse mode. A stone measuring table is included for the final inspection.
