Alliance Completes Move to Gary

By on

Alliance Steel has completed its move to Gary, Ind. The company has been located in Bedford Park, Ill., for the previous 20 years. The Bedford Park location will cease operations in mid-2020.

“We are extremely excited to begin the next chapter of Alliance Steel at our new state of the art offices and processing facility. We have put ourselves in a highly strategic position for continued growth with proximity to the NWI mills as well as several major ports,” said Andrew Gross, president and CEO of Alliance Steel.

Alliance Steel’s new headquarters occupies 290,000 square feet of warehousing and processing space. Its processing lines include two slitters: a Red Bud 72-inch by 0.500-inch line and a Braner 72-inch by 0.250 inch. The facility also has a Stretcher Leveler from Red Bud, a Red Bud multi-blanking line with Herr-Voss leveler.

Other services offered at the facility include fiber laser cutting capabilities, shearing, metallurgical testing, cold reduction and toll processing.  The operation has full rail service, inbound and outbound, plus drive-through bays, and recessed docks for van and flatbed loading.

“We have made several investments in the latest coil processing equipment which will complement an already robust arsenal of capabilities. Our team is very excited to settle in and begin laying down our roots here in Northwest Indiana,” Gross said.
