Steel Market Update has shifted its annual Steel Summit event to a virtual gathering. The three-day event will continue with the same schedule planned for the in-person conference Aug. 24-26 in Atlanta.
“As the world faces an unprecedented challenge, and large gatherings in person are not possible, we want to provide what SMU always has: high-quality information and discussion and an opportunity to connect with your peers – to network and do business,” a release from SMU said. “The dates remain the same, as the conference is timed for the beginning of planning and negotiation season.”
SMU executives said the virtual conference will provide a fully immersive experience, with multiple interactive spaces. “The three-day event will be packed with great content via live sessions, an interactive exhibition, and with live Q&A and networking rooms across the virtual venue, you’ll be able to have conversations with experts, exhibitors and other attendees. The program format will be re-imagined so you can attend sessions, explore the exhibition, ‘meet’ your peers, and still have time to check in on your day-to-day job.”
Further details will be announced soon by SMU.
CRU’s Aluminum Market Update, which was scheduled immediately after the Steel Summit, has been postponed to early 2021.
