U.S. service center steel shipments increased 6.7 percent year over year, reports the Metals Service Center Institute, Rolling Meadows, Ill. Aluminum shipments increased 4.1 percent during the month, compared with August 2017.

In Canada, service center shipments of steel decreased 6 percent in August, while shipments of aluminum product increased 3 percent.
