Alro Steel has completed its move to a new facility in Milwaukee. Alro purchased the former Central Steel building at 4343 S. 6th St. in early 2019.
The project included a 100,000-square-foot addition, plus a complete renovation of the existing warehouse and office space. The completed 205,000-square-foot facility has allowed Alro to expand its bar and sheet offerings, process capabilities and to focus on cut-to-size metals with next-day deliveries to Wisconsin customers.
At the Milwaukee facility, Alro's processing capabilities include shearing for sheet and plate, miter sawing for structural products. It operates a nonferrous MetlSaw, Tsune production saws and KASTO large-diameter saws. The company is currently hiring warehouse employees for the facility.
The company will be closing its facility in Wauwatosa with the move to Milwaukee.
