ANDRITZ Herr-Voss Stamco Inc. has started up a new cut-to-length line at Coast Aluminum, at the company’s facility in Kent, Wash. The line processes .25-inch by 72-inch-wide stainless steel and aluminum and has an incoming coil capacity of 20,000 lbs.
The backbone of the line is ANDRITZ Herr-Voss Stamco Inc.’s precision roller-leveler technology. The line includes a heavy-gauge Precision Leveler as well as a light-gauge Precision Leveler, both with the Punch-N-Go leveler control system. The equipment is designed to meet Coast Aluminum’s specific product requirements.
The CTL line includes ANDRITZ Herr-Voss Stamco’s proprietary electro-discharge texturing precision roll feed system, coupled with a high-speed shear that can cut both long and short blanks with high efficiency and extreme accuracy. The line also allows for the application of paper or vinyl to the leveled material.
Coast Aluminum, headquartered in California, operates 10 locations in the Western United States, plus another five in Mexico. It specializes in aluminum and stainless bar, rod, sheet, pipe and tube, plus architectural products.
